Meet WEIRA’s Founder & CEO
Irina Popova
Irina Popova is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of WEIRA Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting immigrant women in crisis.
Born and raised in Russia, she moved to the United States in 2017, an experience that made her deeply aware of the challenges immigrant women face when rebuilding their lives in a new country.
Determined to provide meaningful support, Irina has dedicated her career to creating resources and opportunities that empower women to overcome adversity and thrive.

WEIRA Inc. and Advocacy
In 2022, Irina became a certified Domestic Violence Advocate and founded WEIRA Inc. (Women’s Empowerment Immigrant Resource Association) to support immigrant women facing domestic violence, divorce, immigration challenges, and career transitions.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, WEIRA provides legal resources, emotional support, and strategic planning to help women regain stability and independence.
Since officially taking cases in March 2023, WEIRA has assisted women in navigating complex, often life-threatening situations.

California Women’s Networking Club
In 2018, Irina founded the California Women’s Networking Club, an inclusive community aimed at helping immigrant women integrate into American society, advance professionally, and build strong support networks.
Over the next five years, she organized networking events and educational workshops, reaching more than 3,000 women.
Leadership and Impact
As the CEO of WEIRA, Irina leads a dedicated team of volunteers -including legal professionals, certified coaches, financial advisors- who share her mission of empowering women to rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.
Under her leadership, WEIRA continues to grow, offering life-changing services that help women transition from crisis to stability. Her passion, vision, and unwavering commitment to advocacy make a profound difference in the lives of the women she serves.

Meet the WEIRA Teams
Career Support Team
Our Career Support Team provides essential guidance for women seeking financial independence and self-realisation. With two specialists, we offer career coaching, resume building, interview preparation, and job search assistance, helping our clients establish a stable and sustainable future.
Emotional Support Team
With 13 specialists, including certified coaches, family therapists, licensed psychologists, and divorce coaches, our Emotional Support Team helps women navigate the emotional impact of their experiences.
Family Support Team
With 14 dedicated volunteers, our Family Support Team offers hands-on assistance to women and their children. From childcare assistance and transportation support to meal preparation and household essentials, this team provides the practical help that makes daily life easier for women as they transition into stability.
Legal Team
Comprised of 7 legal professionals, including family and immigration attorneys, financial divorce advisors, and legal experts, our Legal Team provides consultations to assist women in understanding their rights and navigating complex legal processes.
Administrative Team
Our three-member Administrative Team plays a vital role in spreading awareness of WEIRA’s mission, ensuring that women in crisis know where to turn for help. Through outreach campaigns, social media engagement, and community events, they amplify our message and connect more women to our life-changing services.
